Welcome to the Self Care Library

Please explore the topics below to read more about caring for yourself and caring for each other.

Self Care is a great way to manage your mental health

But it isn't an appropriate substitute for medical care. If you or someone you know is in crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts, please seek medical advice and if you believe that someone may be in immediate danger, please contact the local emergency services.

1 in 4 of us will experience mental illness in our lifetimes; you are absolutely not alone. Feel free to explore our resources for helplines and organisations that are there to help in times of need.

As stated above, self care is important but not an a substitute for proper medical treatment. First and foremost, I urge you to seek medical advice and to work self care methods into your life as a way of making life with mental illness, chronic illness or disability easier to cope with.

Some of the articles in the self care library are contributions from other bloggers and writers and do not necessarily reflect my own experiences.

Although I do everything I can to make Pigletish a safe space for my readers, please remember that nothing can be 100% trigger free for everyone - so proceed with caution and think carefully before adopting any of the self care methods mentioned above.
